Ingredients
4
cups
water
½
cup
piloncillo
Mexican brown sugar
2
medium
cinnamon sticks
¼
tsp
anise seeds
2
whole cloves
3-4
tbsp
instant coffee
1
can
(12floz) evaporated milk
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, add water, cloves, piloncillo, anise, and cinnamon sticks.
Over medium/high heat, bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Take pan off of heat.
Add in coffee and stir to mix well.
Cover and steep for 5 minutes
In a small saucepan, add evaporated milk.
Over medium/high heat, whisk constantly until milk becomes frothy and just boils. Remove from stove.
Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the coffee over coffee mugs.
Serve immediately with the frothed milk on the side.
