In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the boiling water.
Add the cherry Jell-O powder.
Stir for at least 2 minutes, or until the Jell-O powder is dissolved.
In a measuring cup, add enough ice cubes and cold water to measure 1 cup total.
Add the ice water to the Jell-O mixture. Stir until the mixture starts to thicken slightly.
Remove any ice that has not melted.
Add the vanilla yogurt and vanilla extract.
Using a wire whisk, mix until smooth.
Pour the mixture evenly into 4 dessert dishes.
Place the dishes in the refrigerator. Chill for 30 minutes, or until firm.
