Spray a 12-hole muffin tin with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine flour, wheat bran, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream butter and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Then, add an egg and beat until well combined.
Gradually add ⅓ of the bran mixture and ⅓ cup of buttermilk to the large bowl, mixing until just combined. Repeat this step, alternating between the bran mixture and buttermilk, until everything is mixed in.
Fold in raisins to the batter.
Evenly divide the batter among the 12 muffin cups in the prepared pan.
Place the pan in the middle of your preheated oven.
Bake the muffins for about 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.
