Notes
Tips and Tricks
Use ripe cherries - Ripe cherries give the crisp a sweeter taste and better texture.Drain extra liquid if needed - If the cherries release a lot of juice, spoon out a little before adding the granola so the topping stays crisp longer.Add the granola right before serving - Granola softens as it sits on warm fruit, so add it at the end.Let it cool for a minute - The cherry mixture will be hot after microwaving. Let it sit briefly before topping and serving.
Storing
Refrigerate - Store leftover cherry mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Store the granola separately so it stays crisp.Reheat in Microwave - Place the cherry mixture in a microwave-safe bowl. Warm in short intervals until heated through.
