Hot Honey Chicken Lettuce Wraps are quick, crisp, and a little messy in the best way. The chicken is cut small so it cooks fast and actually stays inside the lettuce instead of falling out with every bite.

The sauce has honey for sweetness, hot sauce for heat, and a little vinegar and soy sauce to keep it from tasting too sugary. Red pepper and onion cook right in the skillet with the chicken, while carrots and green onions stay raw for crunch.

These lettuce wraps are ready in 30 minutes and have 38 grams of protein per serving. Butter lettuce keeps them light and easy to pick up, but romaine works too if you want something firmer.

A large skillet is the main tool needed here. A small bowl and whisk make quick work of the sauce.

Why You’ll Love This Hot Honey Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Ready in 30 Minutes

The chicken and vegetables cook in one skillet, so this works well when dinner needs to move quickly.

High Protein

Each serving has about 38 grams of protein, making these wraps a filling main course without needing a long list of sides.

Sweet and Spicy

Honey balances the hot sauce, while soy sauce and apple cider vinegar keep the sauce from tasting overly sweet.

Plenty of Crunch

Soft lettuce, shredded carrots, green onions, and lightly cooked peppers give each wrap a mix of textures.

Ingredient Substitutions

Chicken Thighs

Boneless skinless chicken thighs can replace the chicken breasts. Cut them into small pieces and cook until they reach a safe internal temperature.

Romaine Lettuce

Large romaine leaves can replace butter lettuce if a firmer, crunchier wrap is preferred.

Coconut Aminos

Coconut aminos can replace the soy sauce. The flavor is slightly sweeter, so the finished sauce may taste a little different.

Green Bell Pepper

Green, orange, or yellow bell pepper can replace the red bell pepper.

Tips and Tricks

Cut the chicken small – Small pieces cook quickly and are much easier to keep inside the lettuce leaves.
Adjust the heat – Different hot sauces vary quite a bit in strength. Use a milder sauce or skip the red pepper flakes when less heat is preferred.
Keep the lettuce dry – Pat the lettuce leaves dry after washing so the filling does not slide around.
Separate the lettuce carefully – Butter lettuce leaves can tear easily near the base. Gently pull them apart before filling.

Storing and Reheating

Store separately – Refrigerate the chicken filling in an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 days. Keep the lettuce and toppings in separate containers so they stay crisp.
Reheat in a skillet – Warm the chicken filling over medium-low heat until heated through, stirring occasionally.
Reheat in the microwave – Place one serving of chicken filling in a microwave-safe dish and heat in short intervals until hot. Assemble the lettuce wraps after reheating.
