Weight Watchers Skillet Salisbury Steak
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef – extra-lean
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ cup onion minced
- 8 oz mushrooms sliced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tbsp dry sherry or white wine
- 12 oz jar beef gravy – fat-free
Instructions
For the Steak Patties
- In a large mixing bowl, add ground beef, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well using your hands.
- Divide into 4 equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a patty approx ½ inch thick.
- Prepare a large non-stick skillet by spraying with cooking spray.
- Preheat skillet by placing on stove over medium heat
- Carefully place steak patties on the prepared skillet and cook approx 4 minutes. Flip and cook an additional approx 4 minutes (or until at desired doneness.
- Remove steak patties from skillet and set aside.
For the Gravy
- Increase the stove heat to medium/high.
- Using the same skillet, add onion, mushrooms, and thyme. Saute for approx 3 minutes.
- Add in the sherry and saute for 1 minute.
- Stir in the gravy.
- Add the steak patties back into the skillet and heat for approx 2 minutes, or until heated through.
- Serve
