Tips and Tricks
Bacon
For easier wrapping, use cold bacon straight from the fridge. If the bacon is too warm, it can become too soft and difficult to handle.
Toothpicks
Soak the toothpicks in water for about 10 minutes before using them. This prevents them from burning in the oven.
Brown Sugar
For an extra caramelized coating, press the brown sugar gently onto the bacon-wrapped franks before placing them on the baking sheet. This ensures a more even and sticky coating.
Baking

Weight Watchers Bacon Smokies Appetizer Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb sliced bacon cut into thirds
- 14 oz beef cocktail franks
- ¾ cup brown sugar or to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325° F
- Wrap a cold strip of bacon around each beef cocktail franks. Hold together with a toothpick. Repeat for each.
- Put on a baking sheet in a single layer. Top generously with brown sugar.
- Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes. Brown sugar should be bubbly.
- Place in a Crock pot on low for serving.
