Tips and Tricks

Mixing

Ensure the Greek yogurt and salsa are thoroughly mixed before adding the other ingredients. This creates a smooth base that blends well with the other flavors.

Avocado

To prevent the avocado from browning, add a little bit of lime or lemon juice before mixing it into the dip. This also adds a fresh, zesty flavor.

Cumin

For a deeper flavor, lightly toast the ground cumin in a dry skillet for a minute or two before adding it to the mix. This enhances its aroma and taste.

Onion

If you find raw red onion too pungent, you can soak the finely chopped onion in cold water for 10 minutes and then drain it before adding it to the dip. This will mellow its sharpness.

Serving

This dip is best served chilled. Pair it with whole grain tortilla chips, vegetable sticks, or use it as a spread for wraps and sandwiches.

Storage

Store the dip in an airtight container to keep it fresh. If storing for more than a few hours, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the dip before sealing the container. This helps prevent the avocado from browning and keeps the dip fresh longer.
