  • Prepare a 13 x 9 baking pan by coating with butter, or non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place a large saucepan over low heat.
  • Add butter and stir until melted.
  • Place marshmallows in saucepan stir constantly until marshmallows are melted and combined well with the butter.
  • Cook and stir constantly for 2 minutes.
  • Remove saucepan from heat.
  • Add crispy rice cereal, and quickly stir to mix well.
  • Place mixture in prepared 13 x 9 inch baking pan,
  • Fold wax paper in half and place on top of mixture. (this will protect your hands from the heat),
  • Press down on the wax paper to flatten the mixture into a firmly packed, even layer.
  • Allow to cool.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut the treats into 2 x 2 inch squares.
