Tips and Tricks

Marinating Time

For maximum flavor, let the chicken marinate for the full 8 hours. This allows the flavors to penetrate deeply, making the chicken more flavorful and tender.

Grill Preparation

Make sure your grill is clean and well-oiled before cooking. This prevents the chicken from sticking and ensures even cooking.

Even Cooking

Bring the marinated chicken to room temperature before grilling. This helps it cook more evenly and prevents the outside from burning while the inside remains undercooked.

Using Marinade Safely

Boil the reserved marinade for a few minutes before using it as a basting sauce. This kills any bacteria from the raw chicken, making it safe to use.

Checking Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken. It should reach at least 165°F (74°C) to ensure it’s fully cooked.

Resting the Chicken

Let the grilled chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, making the chicken more moist and flavorful.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the grilled chicken with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh salad. The bright, tangy flavors of the marinade pair well with simple, fresh sides.

Storing Leftovers

Store any leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven to avoid drying out.
