Tips and Tricks
Mixing the Dough
When mixing the Bisquick, buttermilk, and cheddar cheese, stir just until combined. Over-mixing can make the biscuits tough. Aim for a slightly lumpy texture.
Shaping Biscuits
For uniform biscuits, use a cookie scoop or two spoons to drop the dough onto the cookie sheet. This ensures even cooking and a consistent size.
Flattening Biscuits
Gently flatten the biscuits with the back of a spoon or your fingers. This helps them bake more evenly and gives them a nicer shape.
Adding Extra Flavor
For a flavor boost, consider adding a pinch of onion powder or a few dashes of hot sauce to the dough mixture. This can add a subtle depth of flavor.
Baking Evenly
Rotate the cookie sheet halfway through baking to ensure the biscuits brown evenly. Every oven has hot spots, and this step helps achieve a uniform color.
Melting the Butter Substitute
When microwaving the butter substitute with garlic and parsley, cover the bowl with a microwave-safe cover or a paper towel to prevent splatters.
Brushing the Topping
Brush the garlic butter mixture on the biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven. This allows the topping to soak in and enhances the flavor.
Serving Suggestions
These biscuits pair wonderfully with soups, salads, or as a side for dinner. They are also delicious on their own as a snack.
Storing Leftovers
Store any leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. For longer storage, freeze them and reheat in the oven when needed.
