Tips and Tricks
Soaking Potatoes
Soak the potato sticks in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch, which results in crispier fries.
Drying Thoroughly
Ensure the potato sticks are completely dry before tossing them in oil. Excess moisture can prevent them from crisping up properly in the air fryer.
Preheating the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer before adding the potatoes. This helps the fries start cooking immediately and ensures even cooking.
Coating Evenly
Toss the potato sticks in oil thoroughly to ensure each piece is evenly coated. This helps achieve a uniform golden color and crispiness.
Shaking the Basket
Shake the air fryer basket several times during cooking to promote even browning and prevent sticking.
Cooking in Batches
If your air fryer is small, cook the fries in batches to avoid overcrowding. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking and soggy fries.
Adding Seasoning
Sprinkle the cheese seasoning mix on the fries while they are still hot. This helps the seasoning adhere better and enhances the flavor.
Final Crisping
Return the seasoned fries to the air fryer for a few extra minutes to achieve the perfect level of crispiness.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the fries immediately for the best texture. Pair them with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, aioli, or ranch.
Storing Leftovers
If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain their crispiness.
