Tips and Tricks

Preparing the Vegetables

To ensure your vegetables cook evenly, try cutting them into similar-sized pieces. This helps them cook at the same rate and avoids some pieces being undercooked while others are overdone.

Dough Handling

For an easier time working with the dough, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before unrolling. This makes it more pliable and less likely to tear.

Sealing the Pastries

Use a bit of water or an extra dab of egg white on the edges of the dough before pressing them with a fork. This creates a better seal and prevents the filling from leaking out during baking.

Adding Extra Flavor

Feel free to add a pinch of your favorite dried herbs, like oregano or thyme, to the vegetable mixture for an extra burst of flavor. You can also sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top of the pastries before baking for a cheesy crust.

Reheating Leftovers

To keep your pastries crisp, reheat them in the oven or a toaster oven instead of the microwave. This avoids making the crust soggy and keeps the filling warm and tasty.

Customizing Fillings

This recipe is versatile and can accommodate other fillings. Try adding some cooked chicken, pepperoni slices, or even different types of cheese for a variety of flavors.
