Weight Watchers Veggie Calzones
Ingredients
- ¾ cup fresh sliced mushrooms
- ¾ cup zucchini halved and thinly sliced
- ½ cup red bell pepper chopped
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
- ¼ teaspoon dried basil
- 1 can (10 ounce) refrigerated prepared pizza crust
- 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg whites beaten
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425° F
- Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix together mushrooms, zucchini, pepper, and onions.
- Add garlic salt and basil to the vegetables and mix well.
- Unroll the dough and place it on the prepared cookie sheet.
- Roll the dough out into a 14-inch square, then cut it into 4 equal pieces.
- On each dough square, place ¼ cup of cheese, spreading it to within ½ inch of the edges.
- Divide the vegetable mixture evenly among the squares, placing it on top of the cheese.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape and press the edges with a fork to seal them.
- Brush the top of each pastry with egg white.
- Cut 2 or 3 slits in the top of each pastry to let steam escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown.
