Tips and Tricks
Cooking Tips
For even cooking, break up the ground beef into small pieces as it browns. This helps ensure the meat cooks evenly and absorbs the flavors of the spices and vegetables.
Ingredient Substitutions
If you prefer a milder flavor, you can omit the jalapeño or replace it with a milder pepper like a bell pepper. You can also use whole wheat tortillas instead of corn tortillas for a different texture and flavor.
Storage Tips
Store any leftover taco filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat it in a skillet over medium heat before serving. You can also freeze the filling for up to three months for easy meal prep.
Serving Suggestions
Serve these tacos with a side of black beans or a simple salad for a complete meal. You can also pair them with a refreshing drink like iced tea or a light beer to complement the flavors.
Make Ahead
You can prepare the taco filling ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, simply reheat the filling and assemble the tacos. This makes it easy to have a quick and delicious meal ready in minutes.
