  • Place a large non-stick saucepan over medium/high heat. Add olive oil.
  • In the saucepan, add onions. Cook, stirring often for approximately 10 minutes, or until the onions are softened.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce and stir to mix.
  • Reduce heat to low. Cook stirring often for approximately 25 minutes, or until onions are golden.
  • Add beef broth, red wine, and dried thyme. Turn heat to medium/high, bring to a boil, reduce heat, partially cover, and simmer for approximately 40 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 450° F.
  • On a jelly roll pan, arrange 6 – 10 ounce oven safe bowl.
  • Lay a slice of toast in each bowl.
  • Pour equal amounts of broth in each bowl, gently.
  • Lay a half of a slice of cheese on top of each.
  • In preheated oven, bake approximately 10 to 15 minutes, or until the soup is bubbling.
