Tips and Tricks
Working with Dough
Prevent Sticking
When rolling out the dough, use a bit of flour on your work surface and rolling pin to prevent sticking. This makes it easier to handle and shape the dough.
Filling the Waffles
Don’t Overfill
Be careful not to overfill the dough circles with marinara sauce, cheese, and toppings. Overfilling can make it difficult to seal the edges properly, leading to leaks during cooking.
Sealing the Edges
Ensure a Good Seal
Press the edges of the dough circles firmly together to seal them well. If needed, use a fork to crimp the edges and ensure the fillings stay inside while cooking.
Cooking Time
Monitor Closely
Cooking times can vary depending on your waffle iron. Start checking the waffles at the 4-minute mark to avoid overcooking or burning them.
Serving
Dip for Extra Flavor
Serve the waffle pizza pockets with the remaining marinara sauce on the side for dipping. This adds extra flavor and makes them more enjoyable to eat.
Customizing Fillings
Experiment with Toppings
Feel free to customize the fillings by adding your favorite toppings such as mushrooms, olives, or onions. This recipe is versatile and can be adjusted to suit your taste preferences.
