Tips and Tricks
Preparing Rice
Use day-old cooked rice for this recipe. Freshly cooked rice can be too sticky and may not achieve the desired texture when air-fried.
Mixing Ingredients
Thoroughly mix the rice with the oils, water, salt, and pepper before air frying. This ensures even distribution of flavors and prevents the rice from drying out.
Stirring Halfway
Stir the rice halfway through the cooking time in the air fryer. This helps achieve even cooking and prevents the rice from sticking to the pan.
Adding Egg
Drizzle the beaten egg slowly and evenly over the rice to create small, cooked egg pieces throughout the dish. Stir gently to mix the egg into the rice.
Thawing Vegetables
Ensure the frozen carrots and peas are completely thawed before adding them to the rice. This prevents them from releasing excess water and keeps the rice from becoming soggy.
Final Stirring
Stir the rice well after adding the vegetables to distribute them evenly and break up any large clumps of egg.
Serving Sauce
Serve the soy sauce and Sriracha mixture on the side or drizzle it over the rice just before serving. This allows each person to adjust the spiciness to their preference.
Customizing
Feel free to customize the recipe by adding other vegetables like diced bell peppers, corn, or chopped green onions for extra flavor and nutrition.
Storing Leftovers
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave to maintain the texture of the rice.
