Rosemary is a fragrant herb that is often used in cooking. It is native to the Mediterranean region.
Dried rosemary has a more potent flavor than fresh rosemary, so it is often used sparingly in recipes. The herb can be used to flavor roasted meats and vegetables, and it is also a common ingredient in soups, stews, and sauces.
Rosemary pair particularly well with lamb, chicken, and fish.
Fresh oregano is a flavorful, aromatic herb that is commonly used in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. Oregano is a member of the mint family and has a slightly bitter, pungent flavor.
Fresh oregano can be used in a variety of dishes, including pizza, pasta, poultry, lamb, and fish. It is also a popular ingredient in homemade tomato sauces. Fresh oregano can be found year-round in most supermarkets.
When selecting fresh oregano, look for leaves that are dark green in color and have a crisp texture. Avoid wilted or yellowing leaves.
To use fresh oregano, simply remove the leaves from the stem and chop as desired.
